Veggie Hot Dog Contest Summer 2008
 On Saturday June 21st, nearly 300 Austinites came out to eat and compete in iLoveMikeLitt’s 2nd Annual Veggie Hot Dog Eating Contest. Vegan Divine joined in the race with our winning doggy treats gift basket that went to second place winner Colin “The Tim Duncan of Competitive Eating” Kalmbacher - taking on 20 Veggie Dogs!  With a special thanks going out to Light Life Tofu Pups, NadaMoo Vegan Ice Cream, Chris Trew from Coldtowne Theatre, the “Plant Powered” Vegan Firefighters, Sober Daze- the grillmaster, all of the amazing volunteers, as well as the many local businesses and national vegetarian-friendly companies who donated products or prizes to make this event a success. |
 Thanks, Austin, for supporting a veggie-friendly lifestyle and supporting iLoveMikeLitt’s ongoing efforts to create entertaining events with the model citizens who make them possible. This was their 16th event since last year’s competition. All proceeds from the contest went towards future iLoveMikeLitt events and projects. So, rest and digest - it’s never too early to prepare yourself for next year’s meatless mayhem! |
