 Vegan Divine sisters, Santamrit and Simran, took great delight in volunteering along side with Vegetarians of Washington organizers, Amanda Strombom (president) and Stewart Rose, in distributing gift bags filled with generous vegan donations to the anniversary attendees. In addition, Vegan Divine was excited to raffle off their popular gourmet “Taste of Italy” organic vegan gift basket. Amazingly, the winner was not vegetarian, but prior to announcing her name, had vowed to a vegetarian friend that she would “go veg” if she won the grand prize gift basket! Vegan Divine was moved to see the recipient was inspired by the dinner and the vegan gift basket winning, that she decided to make a conscious choice towards an animal-friendly diet. HURRAY!!! |
Anniversaries are always fun! But even more so…when they are amongst other fellow vegetarians and vegans. Vegan Divine had the pleasure of participating in the celebration of the Vegetarians of Washington’s 15th Anniversary Dinner on July 18th, 2007. Held at the beautiful Mt. Baker Club, there were well over 100 attendees, both practicing and aspiring vegetarians and vegans who got a taste of the gourmet vegan cuisine that evening. Personally prepared by owner of the “Patty Pan Grill” and author of “The Accidental Vegan”, Chef Devra Gartenstein delightfully witnessed crowds returning for seconds!!
