VEGAN DIVINE AVOIDS THE FOLLOWING IN FOOD PRODUCTS:
All forms of animal ingredients such as meats (including fish), dairy, eggs, gelatin, rennet, casein, honey, whey, royal jelly, lactic acid from animals, lactose, oleic acid, stearic acid and bone-char-processed sugars.
Vegan Divine does not recommend individuals with severe allergies to nuts, eggs, dairy, or other ingredients to consume their products. Although all of the products featured in their gifts and gift baskets are made with 100% vegan ingredients, many products are manufactured commercially on shared machinery or in shared facilities, where there remains a possibility of minute amounts of allergen ingredients (even when machinery is thoroughly cleansed between production runs) that can surface in the products. If allergen ingredients are a concern when selecting a gift for a recipient, please feel free to contact Vegan Divine for information and alternative options for substitution.
Striving to include organic, fairly traded and sustainably harvested products, Vegan Divine also supports ingredient content that is simply natural. Coming from a place of integrity, Vegan Divine fully discloses the ingredient make-up of every product featured in their premier gifts.
VEGAN DIVINE AVOIDS THE FOLLOWING IN PERSONAL CARE PRODUCTS:
Sulfates
Synthetic surfactants used to create foam in detergents causing allergenic reactions. FDA is keeping a close eye on the possibility of these substances becoming cancer causing agents. Sulfates have been known to harm marine life and the environment. Examples include: sodium lauryl/laureth sulfate, sodium myreth sulfate, sodium cocosulfate, disodium laureth sulfosuccinate and so on.
Parabens
Known as highly toxic and industrial grade chemicals, they are used as preservatives (microbial growth inhibitors) in products to extend their shelf lives. Widely known to cause allergenic effects such as rashes, these chemicals have been documented by the EPA to have negative effects on endocrine hormonal functioning. Examples include: methyl, propyl, ethyl, butylparabens.
Glycols
Chemical and petroleum based solvents likened to industrial anti-freeze are used as humectants (substances that attract moisture) and are found in an over-whelming number of products. Again, are found to cause toxic and allergenic outcomes. Examples include: propylene glycol, butylene glycol, and phenoxyethanol. Other solvents that are part of this family such as paraffins or acetone and hexane, could be classified as neurotoxins and pulmonary irritants.
Synthetic/Artificial Colors/Dyes:
Mostly used by companies to add to the visual appeal of the product as well as to conceal the natural look of cosmetics, lotions, creams, conditioners and many other personal care products. Primarily derived from coal tar, these chemical dyes are read by the consumer as carmine, FD&C or D&C with a numeric value following it. For example, D&C Blue No. 2. These coloring agents could lead to toxic effects of carcinogenicity.
Synthetic/Artificial Fragrances/Parfume:
Often labeled as “fragranceâ€, these synthetics are linked with causing an assortment of problems for the human body. As these chemical pleasers are not naturally obtained, where no harmful methods were used to extract the scents, these synthetic fragrances are used to hide the often unbearable odors of other chemicals used in the manufacturing process. Synthetically derived fragrances can lead to asthma, depression, hyperactivity, headaches, seizers, vomiting, dizziness, skin rashes and irritation and more. Examples include: the word “natural fragrance or parfum,†berry, mango, coconut, honeysuckle, peach, plum fragrances… and others like vanillin, methyl acetate (apple fragrance). It is encouraged that products utilizing essential oils provide aromatic infusions that the body’s DNA can gently and beneficially absorb.
